We are often asked if we take in electronic equipment for recycling, and the answer is “Not really”. We say “Not Really” because we are left with computer parts that will need to be recycled properly. And so, periodically we contact a provider who comes and picks up and takes it to a proper eWaste recycling service center.
But we don’t have the space to take in other’s electronics for the purpose of proper disposal. So here is a short list of links to help you make an informed decision on how to dispose of your electronics properly.
- Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) – Click Here for a nice concise article that defines what eWaste is and has helpful resources on how to dispose of such products
- E-WASTE US – located in N. Hollywood, the site clearly shows you what they will and will not take. Call them to confirm when they are available for free drop off 818-465-5381.
- AllEwaste Electronic Recycling – appears to be closed as their phone number has been disconnected.
- Goodwill Southern California – don’t forget your friendly neighborhood Goodwill center. Click on their name to get more details about their program.
